Southern Europe: C-in-C South-west's assessment of Allied intentions in Italy, Apr 22; GOC 1st Parachute Corps, fighting in Italy, requests 2,000 replacements for casualties suffered since start of major battle; C-in-C South-east orders 97th Corps to withdraw all forces of 237th Division in Pola in order to save Fiume, Apr 22; Hitler orders extra measures in Istria to save Fiume and clear the Italian-Croatian border country, German forces to thrust westwards from Bihac to coast at Senj, south of Fiume, Apr 22.
