Description

Southern Europe: battle reports from Italian Front for Apr 21 from Medelana and Monte Santo areas south-east of Ferrara involving elements of 1st Parachute Division and 76th Panzer Corps.

Western Europe: Kesselring orders senior officers of Army Group G to report to him on Apr 18 as he accuses its Grafenwoehr's Battle Group, 82nd Corps and 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division of major deficiencies in leadership, leading to German reverses inNuremburg area; German plans to resist Allied advance from Grafenwoehr area to involve elements of 1st and 7th Armies, Apr 19; German High Command propaganda directive for Apr 17, Truman replaces Roosevelt, German propaganda reports should be expertly muddled so that all possibilities remained open; Hitler claims exclusive right to order destruction of war gasses and cancels all previous orders for such destruction from military sources, Apr 16; Georgian mutineers on Texel Island continue to hold out against German forces, Apr 19; Home Defence Force in Berlin area to transfer 200 machine-guns and 5,000 rifles to Hermann Goering Parachute Division south-east of Berlin, Apr 19.
