Western Europe: Himmler's approval given to V1 programme of new formation AKZV under SS Lieutenant General Kammler: possibility of setting up observation post in Dunkirk to provide fast information about air situation between Hague and English coast, plotting of flying bombs transferred to North Sea area with range of 370 km envisaged; fuel restrictions imposed on jet aircraft taxiing to conserve small stocks of aviation fuel.
South-east Europe: German withdrawal in Yugoslavia under threat from group of Tito's forces from area of Tuzla, CinC South-East request for at least two of formations intended for operation SOUTH HUNGARY to thrust from north towards Sarajevo or to smash forces near Tuzla; failure of 369th Croat Division for second time despite tough commander Major General Reinecke, Croatian Legionary formations not suitable for main line confrontation with Soviet divisions fresh from successes in Herzegovina, warning of internal political and economic complications if substantial portions of Croatia given up.
