Description

Western Europe: day report from Army H Group B for Feb 18, expected Allied attack against flank of Eiffel bulge with strong infantry and tanks being countered by 2nd Panzer Division; list of war gas factories and gas ammunition depots needing increased protection, installations not to fall into Allied hands, no demolitions, arrangements to be made for evacuation, installations to be protected against surprise attack and to be defended until evacuation complete; Chief Commander for Anti-Gas Defence moving to Stuttgart area, Feb 16.

Naval Headlines: new patrol line for Rasmus Group of U-boats; U-boats deployed 90 miles north-west of Bloody Foreland and 100 miles west of Scilly Islands; U-boats in area south of Ireland ordered to seek traffic to east or north-east; Small Battle Units Command requiring information about mole defences and protection of Ostend harbour; German cruiser Nuernberg undamaged in sabotage attempt at Copenhagen although quay severely damaged.
