Germany: Army Ordnance Depot, Hamburg ordered by Inspector of French SS Formations to send gas equipment destined for Greifenberg to Wildflecken where urgently required for employment; aircraft production machinery transferred from Vienna and Steyr to Bavarian Alps; Gestapo called in to deal with disintegration among civilian population of supply base at Stockstadt and surrounding area, stocks of chlorine gas and sulphuric acid in cellulose factory Stockstadt in danger from Allied air attacks; CinC West asked to allot personnel to block whole Westphalian industrial area.
Naval Headlines: Dunkirk to be supplied by fishing smack from Scheveningen; 4th Japanese Carrier Squadron with heavy cruiser Ashigara and three destroyers to return to Japan from Singapore carrying aviation fuel and other vital material; remaining Japanese naval forces in Malay-Netherlands East Indies area under control of Japanese Southern Army, new controlling fleet set up in place of South West Area Fleet to operate under tactical command of CinC Southern Army.
