Eastern Europe: assessment of Soviet intentions by General Schulz, Chief of Staff, 4th Air Fleet, possibility of attack from Slovakian area to south or west, Oct 30; directive from SS Main Office squashing rumours of failure of East Prussian Volkssturm Regiments, Oct 26.
Northern Europe: all units subordinated to CinC Naval Chief Command Norway ordered to be at greatest vigilance in anticipation of British landings in Narvik area aimed at forestalling possible Soviet break through, Oct 29; German Supreme Command Navy quoting Norwegian source with Government in Exile in London, Norwegian forces in north England and Scotland prepared for employment in Norway, landing in latitude of Narvik intended by end of week, Oct 30.
