Description

Western Europe: 47th Panzer Corps on central Normandy Front expecting resumption of Allied attacks, July 14; results of Allied air raid on Toulon, July 11; GAF Germany summary for July 13/14, massed air raid on Munich and attacks against synthetic fuel plants in the Ruhr.

Naval Headlines.

Japanese consul-general, Vienna: report of July 5 following up on an earlier report of June 26, gives very detailed report of all damage caused to factories in Vienna area on June 26 when 500 US aircraft bombed industrial targets there.

German ambassador, Madrid: report of July 7 relayed on 10th by Berlin to German Embassy Ankara and German legations in Stockholm and Lisbon, obvious propaganda points critical of the British campaign in Normandy and allegedly obtained from a meeting of members of the British consulate-general in Barcelona in presence of British ambassador; PM very concerned over this message, covering note from C to Mr Loxley for Foreign Secretary with various comments added along the way, general consensus is that item should not be believed.
