German ambassador, Madrid: report of July 7 relayed on 10th by Berlin to German Embassy Ankara and German legations in Stockholm and Lisbon, obvious propaganda points critical of the British campaign in Normandy and allegedly obtained from a meeting of members of the British consulate-general in Barcelona in presence of British ambassador; PM very concerned over this message, covering note from C to Mr Loxley for Foreign Secretary with various comments added along the way, general consensus is that item should not be believed.
