Description

West Europe: 86th Corps no longer able to mount counter-thrusts against Allied penetrations, July 8; GAF 2nd Fighter Corps operational order for July 9, Allied penetration in centre of Caen; C-in-C West has urgent requirement for lorry drivers competent to drive at night in operational area, June 24.

South Europe: 278th Infantry Division expecting large-scale Allied attacks in next few days, July 8; information to Captain Submarines Mediterranean about Allied convoys, supposition that 30,000 tons kept back for operational purposes, July 7; undertakings against guerillas and terrorists to be carried through to objective, failure impairs respect for occupying forces, July 7.
