Western Europe: report from von Schlieben's battle group at Cherbourg night of June 22/23, Allied forces had broken through just outside Cherbourg, German forces insufficient to oppose much stronger Allied forces than originally estimated; von Schlieben calls for anti-tank ammunition to be brought by sea to Cherbourg as all stores were exhausted; 1st SS Panzer Corps in Caen area expecting an Allied attack on right flank, June 22.
Naval Headlines: German attempts to get military supplies into Cherbourg by U and E-boats, most of which were aborted because the garrison was about to capitulate.
Saudi minister, London: report of June 20 on the past 6 days of V-1 attacks on London, considers that they will have no influence on future course of the war.
Portuguese minister, Ankara: report of June 21 on resignation of Turkish Foreign Minister, signified a more pro-British stance by Turkey in future.
