West Europe: LXXXIV Corps to reconstruct a defensive line south of the US break-through across Cherbourg Peninsula, all of 77 Division fail to get through to the south, June 18; 77 Infantry Division rearguard fail to break out, subordinated to 709 Infantry Division, June 18; report by LXXXIV Corps, 2 SS Panzer Division to assemble in St Lo area early June 18; Allied infantry break through on both sides of Tilly, June 18; GAF Air Division 2 intentions for June 18-19, torpedo attack by 40 Ju88 on shipping off Cherbourg Peninsula; 363 Division arrives in Bruges (previously in Denmark), June 18; two battalions of Russians with 1st SS Corps a complete failure in fighting on June 6-7; LXXXVI Corps (previously Bordeaux area) to take over control between Seine and Orne, June 17; GAF request attack on bridge carrying all Allied supplies to east of the Orne, Junee 17; Germans claim victory northeast of St Lo, June 18.
