South-eastern Europe: 771st Engineer Landing Battalion due to arrive Sumartin, Brac, Mar 27, escorted from Zara by Colubrina and Insidioso; GAF Command South East in Vienna reported investigations being carried out to discover locations and strengths of Hungarian armed forces, one Hungarian soldier shot in affray with German soldiers, Mar 23 Italy: German aircraft losses over Cassino, Mar 22; CinC South West, Army Group C, reports deserters from Italian fascist units reporting to German units especially of Todt organisation, some accepted on establishment, procedures for enforcement of Duce's order of Feb 18 for punishment of deserters, Mar 24.
Eastern Europe: summary of goods and men shipped to and from Crimea in February, some units damaged by sea but none by hostile action although convoys attacked by submarines and aircraft, Mar 1; 4th Air Fleet report for Mar 23; German ground attack aircraft attacked Soviet forces pushing forward north west of Balti and ferrying traffic in Yampol area.
