Southern Europe: 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division report for Jan 25, elements of 4 Allied divisions had landed in Nettuno front area but division had thrown enemy back from Aprilia, (some 11 miles north of Anzio); 94th Division report for Jan 25; 1st Parachute Division report for Jan 25 and intentions for 26th; 51st Mountain Corps report for Jan 24 with results of Allied air raids; C-in-C West considers it would be difficult to repel an Allied landing at junction of 19th and 14th Armies, in the Nice - Ventimiglia area, Jan 10.
Naval Headlines: includes U-boat tasking details, orders to remain on surface during hours of darkness and also not to launch torpedoes at long ranges which allowed the target to take evasive action.
Japanese ambassador, Berlin: very detailed report and assessment of Allied air raids on Berlin, 4,000 sorties Nov 22-Jan 17, Germans claimed 309 aircraft destroyed.
