Southern Europe: on Dec 1 26th Panzer Division was to withdraw to its winter defence line in its own sector, on Italian west coast, 14th Corps considered on Dec 2 that certain Allied attacks were particularly dangerous for the Corps; the former Italian cruiser Niobe was to be ready once again for sea operations by Dec 2, landing on Solta was postponed until Dec 4; GAF test unit employing rocket gliders against Allied bomber aircraft operating over Germany.
