Southern Europe: situation report for Sicily, Aug 2; return of serviceable anti-tank guns of 15th Panzer Grenadier Division on July 31; operations order for 2nd Air Corps reconnaissance for Aug 3; GAF fighter and ground attack units transferring to Corsica, Aug 2; fighter unit moving its battle HQ from Vibo Valentia, Aug 1; all units of 2nd Air Corps to keep standing reserve of motor transport and aircraft fuel for emergency, Aug 1; three airfields in Sardinia reported to be unusable for Allied landings, Aug 2; leave suspended for Italian naval personnel at Toulon, Bastia and Rhodes, Aug 2.

German armed forces propaganda discourages discussion of Italian events, Aug 1.

South-east Europe: air operations by GAF Command South-east on Aug 1: German claims of Allied aircraft shot down in Ploesti raid, Aug 2; Hitler orders Croatian guerillas to be treated as prisoners of war in order to preserve manpower, July 28; guerillas activities in Greece, July 31.
