Southern Europe: front line in Sicily, July 30, Allies 4 km south of Troina; Sicily situation report for July 29, expectation of renewed Allied attacks on 29th and 15th Panzer Grenadier Divisions and Hermann Goering Division, 29th and 15th Panzer Grenadier Divisions to withdraw night of July 29-30; details of locations of elements of 1st and 2nd Parachute Divisions, July 27; 2nd Air Fleet orders Fascist emblems on aircraft to be replaced, July 28; situation report for July 29, Allies dug in near Castel Di Tusa, Allied forces attacking south of Mistretta and north east Nicosia; Italian Admiralty order renaming of battleship Littorio to Italian and of destroyer Camilia Nera to Artigliere, July 30; GAF bomber units ordered to keep sufficient fuel reserve available for transfer at short notice to North Italy, July 29; GAF long range bomber units apparently withdrawing from Italy, July 29.
