South Europe: Kesselring makes German generals responsible for left flank, July 15; C-in-C South situation Sicily July 15; German sea transport say unloading at Catania and Molini no longer possible, July 15; Germans withdrawing weapons and equipment from Sicily, July 15; steamship sunk in Allied raid on Messina, July 15; GAF airfield regional command Catania transferring to mainland, July 15; GAF radio direction finding units withdrawn to mainland, July 15; ferrying of GAF ground staff to mainland too slow, July 15; vessels blown up at Trapani on German orders, July 15; 2nd Air Fleet report of Sicily area for July 12-13; Italian cruiser to pass through Straits of Messina night of July 15-16; GAF sight enemy warships south of Catania, July 15; captured Allied paratroops to be sent to Reggio, July 14.
