Mediterranean/Southern Europe: air defence elements of Hermann Goering Division to protect Division's transfer to Sicily via Straits of Messina, June 19; GAF summary for June 21, Allied aircraft supplying partisans, 6 railway bridges destroyed in Greece; German naval and air summary for June 20/21, German agent reports some 250 Allied ships still in the Oran area and all ready to sail.
Portuguese ambassador, London: talks with Eden on June 21 probably concerning the Allied earlier request to use facilities in the Azores, Eden emphasises absolute secrecy in the negotiations and that to divulge information to Spain would be as good as giving it direct to the Germans, ambassador considered it essential to discuss with Spain, ambassador to accompany Eden to Madrid, accompanied by UK military VIPS.
