North Africa: correspondence via C between PM and Air Chief Marshal Tedder, concerning item 2265/T35 of Mar 14, see 2592; German claim to have shot down 14 out of 18 US fighters, Tedder replies that 7 out of 14 US Aircobras were lost and that escorting US Spitfires were ineffective, British personnel were now advising US aviators and it was hoped that such incidents would not be repeated
