Description

North Africa: Kesselring's appreciation of Tunisian situation, Nov 28, very detailed report, Nov 28, fuel supplies must be brought from Tripoli by Nov 30 to avoid another fuel crisis, large scale Allied attack expected on or about Nov 30; little Allied activity; Rommel's visit to Germany and Italy, Nov 28/29; Rommel to Rome early on Nov 28 stating that he felt honour bound to personally inform Hitler and C-in-C of German armed forces of current situation within Panzer Army and of its supply problems, he would leave North Africa early on Nov 28 and return in 2 or 3 days' time, he was not expecting strong Allied attack; Kesselring to receive visiting military VIP, possibly Goering, on afternoon of Nov 30
