Description

North Africa: Rommel's reply Nov 26 to Cavallero's request for a detailed investigation into withdrawal of Italian infantry if Allies break through at Marsa El Brega, Rommel considers task impossible unless Italians provide 500 vehicles Rommel's reply, 26 Nov to Bastico's message of Nov 25 requesting repositioning of Italian component of Panzer Army, Rommel refuses to send elements of Trieste Division to Buerat or to release Ariete and Littorio Panzer Divions, Italian armoured units must be available because of British superiority in numbers and heavy losses by Africa Corps; German intelligence on situation in French colonies and scuttling of French fleet at Toulon, Nov 27, Allied convoy of 15 troopships sailing west from Gibraltar on Nov 26.

Russian Front: Russian forces reach Don 80 miles South West of Stalingrad, German operations being severely hampered by poor weather.
