North Africa: shortage of aviation fuel at Tobruk on Nov 7, only one day's supply remaining, request for supplies from Europe; all stocks of aviation fuel at Maleme exhausted by morning of Nov 8; preparation of mining and obstruction materials in the Capuzzo area, Nov 7; Germans in defensive operations east of Sidi Barrani, Nov 8; Panzer Army in retreat with extreme shortages of fuel and water, Nov 6; report from French Naval Command at Oran for Nov 8, considerable losses to Allies; French Naval Command at Casablance orders all convoys from Dakar to Casablanca to be suspended; late on Nov 8 French naval authorities were aware that rising in Morocco had been suppressed and Allied landings at Safi and Fedhala had been heavily counter-attacked; Panzer Army informed that Allies were planning a landing on Rhodes and Aegean Islands, Oct 31; CX report on Tangier, Nov 8; CX report on Tunis, Nov 8
