Description

Mediterranean area: Naval Command, Dodecanese, informed of Allied convoy believed to intend landing on Aegean Islands, Nov 5; Hospital ship Citta di Trapani en route Naples to Matruh, Nov 3; arrivals in Benghazi and Tobruk, air raid on Benghazi, Nov 4; two landing craft left Derna for Tobruk carrying fuel and ammunition.

North Africa: AOC in C South Fighter Group consisting of Me109 F4 aircraft without auxiliary tanks transferring to Tobruk, Nov 5; Ju52 aircraft from Tobruk to retrieve GAF and motor transport equipment from operational area, Nov 6; northern sector of holding line being reinforced, continuous Allied air raids and artillery bombardments; Italians asked to undertake protection of Tobruk harbour, Nov 5; Goering orders no flak guns to be abandoned; anti-aircraft guns to be used for ground support.

North Africa: anti-tank guns to be used only against tanks which have broken through; aviation fuel consumption rates for air transport; improvements in off-loading Benghazi possible by stopping harbour construction work; air raid damage at Tobruk, Maleme and El Adem; German and Italian landing craft to leave Tobruk for Matruh Nov 4.

Russian Front: Close Reconnaissance Group transferred from Maikop to north east of Polotsk to support 11th Army, Nov 4; ferrying of aircraft; fuel and ammunition arrived Tobruk, Nov 4; experimental detachment with heavy projectors and ammunition en route for Africa.
