Indenture of bargain and sale by Katherine Hopkins of Brentwood, Essex, widow, on the one part, to Robert White of South Weald, Essex, yeoman, and John Camper of Brentwood, yeoman, on the other part, of a tenement known by the sign of the white horse, with all houses, buildings and appurtenances in Brentwood, and a stable and chamber over the stable, part of the tenement called 'Le Corknowe', and a parcel of yard and garden room with a moiety of a pond, with a barn, on condition that it be in her use during her life, and after her death to the use of William Spitle, her grandson, and his heirs, and after his death and if he has no heirs to the use of John Spitle, her other grandson, and his heirs, with the seal of Katherine Hopkins attached. [Endorsed] Witnesses: Richard Garrett, Robert Debury and Thomas Barnes.
