Indenture of bargain and sale by Thomas Thwayte of Hardingham, Norfolk, esquire, to Francis Sturges of Cranworth, Norfolk, esquire, son and heir of Francis Sturges, esquire, deceased, of a moiety of the manors of Ellingham, 'Cawes' and 'Botelde', Norfolk, a moiety of the advowson of the church and parsonage of Southburgh, Norfolk, a moiety of pasture called 'Oxleyfeld' in Southburgh, Hengham, Hardingham and Reymerstone, Norfolk, that had been previously sold by John Aldham of Shimpling, Norfolk, gentleman, to Thomas Thwayte for £1250, in an indenture dated 17 September 1569, in return for the other moieties of the same manors, advowson and pasture that had been sold by John Aldham to Francis Sturges, deceased, for £1250. [Endorsed] Witnesses: William Grigson, clerk, Thomas Carsey, Robert Tyling, Richard Thibaytes and John Cady.
