Indenture of bargain and sale between John Puckeringe, one of the queen's serjeants at law, George Chewne of Fairlawn (Fayrlane), Kent, esquire, and John Lyons, gentleman, on the one part, and Edward Bressy, citizen and haberdasher of London, on the other part, of the woods, underwoods and wood ground called 'Pares Wood' alias 'Parres Wood' [Pear Wood] in Whitchurch alias Little Stanmore (Little Stamner), Middlesex, part of the hereditaments of Robert Losse, late of Canons [Park], Middlesex, esquire, deceased, and a grove or wood ground with appurtenances in Whitchurch, Middlesex, called 'Anmersh Grove', a wood with appurtenances in Whitchurch, called 'Bromefeild Half' alias 'Bromefeild Hawte' [Broomfield], and a messuage or tenement in Edgware, Middlesex, called the 'Lyon', late in the tenure of Randal Babington, provided that seisin of the land can revert to Hugh Losse, son and heir of Robert Losse, under a set of specified conditions, including the payment of £409 12s. Signed and sealed by John Puckeringe, George Chewne and John Lyons. [Endorsed] Witnesses: William Bourne, Paul Baynnges, William Milward and Robert Bryerick. [
Endorsed]: Memorandum that on 4 May 1592 Thomas Massye, attorney, entered into the named woods on behalf of George Chewne and John Lyons and took possession and seisin, and delivered possession and seisin to Edmund Bressy. Witnesses: William Milward, Joseph Bowers, William ? Dimriunbe and Randall Babington.
