Indenture of bargain and sale by John Gookin the elder of Ripple, Kent, gentleman, to John Gookin the younger of Lincoln's Inn, Middlesex, gentleman, second son of John Gookin the elder, Stephen Brett of New Romeney, Kent, yeoman, and Anne Brett of New Romney, Kent, one of the daughters and co-heiresses of John Brett, late of New Romney, Kent, deceased, following the marriage of John Gookin the younger to Anne Brett, of a messuage or tenement called 'Litle Betshanger' alias 'Litle Betleshanger' with all appurtenances [specified] and 196 acres of land, in Northbourne, Great Betteshanger, Eastry and Ash near Sandwich, Kent [details specified]. Dorse: witnesses: Thomas Gookin, John Hatcher and Ellis Row.
