Description

Bargain and sale by Charles Acton of Elmsley Lovett, Worcestershire, esquire, Richard Acton, esquire, son and heir apparent of Charles Acton, and Edwin Acton, gentleman, another son of Charles Acton, to William Rogers of Dowdeswell, Gloucestershire, esquire, of the manor of Cold Aston, alias Little Aston, with all appurtenances in Gloucestershire, that had formerly belonged to the dissolved monastery of Westwood, Worcestershire [details specified], which had been granted by letters patent of Henry VIII dated 18 June 1538 to Sir Robert Acton, knight, deceased, the father of Charles Acton, for £700. Dorse: witnesses to Charles Acton's seal and signature: John Russell, Thomas Handford, Fulk Haselwoode, John Higford, Robert Burbage, John Ferrers, Samuel Cutler and Robert Draper.

Witnesses to Richard Acton's seal and signature: Thomas Handford, John Higforde, John Hawkins and David Pryes.

Witnesses to Edwin Acton's seal and signature: Edward Denton, John Smyth, John Higforde, Morgan Williams and Robert Draper. Note of the transfer of seisin, witnessed by: John Playdell, Simon Andrewe, Richard Andrewe, Abraham Haiggeford, William Higforde, Joseph Henyman, Thomas Chyld, Robert Draper, William Rogers, John Higgines and Fulk Dangerfyld, knight.
