Draft (Latin) letters patent granting to Stephen Smaleman, esquire, and his assigns, for the term of his life, to hold himself or by sufficient deputy, the office of protonotary and clerk of the crown in Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire, in reversion after the deaths of Francis Rame, junior, and Christopher Anderton, to whom the office was granted for term of their lives by letters patent of Queen Elizabeth dated 14 July 1592; and further granting the same to William Holland, gentleman, and his assigns, in reversion after the death of the above Stephen, for the term of his life. Postcript: English summary of the above, signed by Windebank. 'This office may be so granted if it please his most excellent majesty', signed R. Leukenor.
