Draft letters patent in the name of Elizabeth I granting to Edward Allen, gentleman, for the term of his life, the office of chief master of the queen's bears, bulls, and mastiff dogs, to occupy by himself or sufficient deputy. Refers to Cuthbert Vaughan, Richard Longe knight, and Ralph Bowis esquire as previous holders of the office. [Edward Allen, theatre entrepreneur, attempted unsuccessfully to obtain this office in 1598 on the death of Ralph Bowes.]
