Description

(Draft of) indentured demise, by John Lumley, knight, Lord Lumley, to Robert Gavell of Cobham in Surrey, gentleman, and Roger Marshall of Nonsuch, Surrey, gentleman, of the great park of Nonsuch with (specified) exceptions, for the term of 21 years from Michaelmas next, paying £160 yearly.

Signed: John Williamson. Postscript: I thank you good mr. Gavell for my billets, but as yet I never saw but one thousand of them, and they all burned for heresy.
