Description

Extracts from records proving that lands in [Little] Bowdon, Farndon and elsewhere in Northamptonshire are held by knight service of the honour of Berkhamsted. (i) Extracts from the Book of Fees concerning knights' fees held of the honour in Little Oxendon and Farndon (Book of Fees, II, 940-1) and the fees of Hugh Russell in [Little] Bowdon and elsewhere (details given)(ibid. I, 500) (ii) Copy of the inquisition post mortem of William Maureward, knight, 23 March 1379, concerning messuages, etc., in Little Bowdon, Arthingworth, Dingley, Farndon, Little Oxendon held by knight service of the honour of Berkhamsted(Cal. Inq. Post Mortem, XV, no. 121).
