Notes relating to Lavenham. (i) (a) note of sums due to the lord of the manor, 28 December 1591, as reliefs from the heirs of Sir William Cordell knight; (b) note of lands occupied without licence by Sir William; (c) note of copyhold lands not yet taken up; (d) note of lands held by Sir William at his death; (e) note of lands acquired without licence (?). (ii) fair copy of (i)(d). (iii) notes of lands and tenements occupied as freehold or copyhold by Sir William Cordell knight and of lands entered by him without authority. [Dorse:] A note of Mr. Cordale's case to be showed unto the Queen. (iv) (a) note of lands granted out of the lord's hands by copy of court roll since 1532-3 (b) note of lands lately belonging to the guild of St Peter granted in 1548-9 by John earl of Oxford to Thomas Allmot gentleman; (c) note of lands held by Sir William Cordell which are demesne lands or lands held at will, with note of relief payable after his death (v) questions concerning the manor, parsonage, and court leet, by the surveyor of the manor, to be put to Thomas Bacon, gentleman, William Bytteryng, gentleman, and other jurors at the inquest, office, court baron and survey (?) held at the manor on 19 April 1585.
