Indentured demise by John Sydenham of 'Lyegh' [?Leigh in Skilgate] in Somerset, esquire, to John Gullye of North Petherton, Somerset, husbandman, and Joan his wife, for the term of their lives, for 53s. 4d. paid, of a messuage and tenement at 'Morelande' in North Petherton, with 1 a. arable, lately held by Thomas Baylyffe and James Burton; paying 2s. yearly and doing suit of court. Covenants relating to repair, payment of heriot, and provision of a chamber for Margery, wife of the above James Burton. Provision for re-entry in event of arrears or if Joan marry or live unchastely after John Gullye's death. With appointment of John Harrell and John Scherman as attorneys to John Sydenham to deliver seisin.
