(i) Indented demise by Thomas Goverley of Canterbury, gentleman, and the Queen's Post for the same city, to John Alsop of Canterbury, gentleman, of the inn called the Sign of the Three Kings in the parish of All Saints in Canterbury, in the high street, with the household stuff specified in the attached schedule; from Christmas next for the remainder of the term of those 21 years saving one day (sic) mentioned in a demise by John Fuller to Thomas Goverley [WARD 2/61/241/15]; paying £26 5s. yearly; excepting a parlour and chambers in which Thomas and his late wife were accustomed to lie, and two stables and a loft which pertain to the mayor and commonalty of Canterbury, and the Dean and Chapter of Christ Church Canterbury, and access to the yard of the Inn for Thomas's posthorses.

(ii) [attached by its sealing tags] Bond in £300 by John Alsoppe of Canterbury gentleman and Matthew Bigland of the same tailor, to Thomas Goverley of the same gentleman. Condition: John Alsoppe to observe conditions of the attached lease. If Matthew Bigland die before the specified term, John to find another worth £500 in Kent or Canterbury to enter into a like bond. Witnesses: Christopher Finch, Thomas?Brown, Christopher Man. Signed. 2 seals.
(iii) [attached on sealing tongue] indented inventory of the household stuff leased in the inn, to a sum total of £160 5s.
