Indenture of bargain and sale by Thomas Legh of Calder in Cumberland, esquire, to Sir Thomas Wyatt, knight, and his heirs, of the manors of Boughton Monchelsea and Palstre, Kent, and the other lands and tenements in Kent lately of dame Lucy Harpur, held by Thomas in his own right or in right of Frances his wife; with all rents from the same since the death of dame Lucy. Sir Thomas covenants to pay £1, 730 at specified terms, and that a recognizance of £2, 000 made Easter term 1551 before the justices of Common Pleas will be void.
Signed by Thomas Legh. Seal. Acknowledged by Thomas Legh on 21 April 1551 at 'Serjauntes Inne' in Fleet Street before Edward Mountagu, knight, chief justice of Common Pleas, and enrolled before the justices of Common Pleas.
