Indenture between Robert Losse of 'Cannons' [in Whitchurch] in Middlesex, esquire, and William Dermer alias Dormer of London, scrivener, witnessing that a lease by Robert to William (see below) will be void if Robert pay £40 13s. 4d. before 30 June next. Includes covenant that the premises are not held of the Queen by knight service. In the lease, dated 19 December 1588, Robert demised to William the messuage or inn called the Bell, in West Smithfield in London, with appurtenances; and the messuages, lands, etc., lately of Hugh, Robert's father, in Long Lane near West Smithfield or elsewhere in the parishes of St Sepulchre and St Mary Magdalene Old Fish Street; and Robert's other lands, etc., in London and Middlesex, from 22 February next for the term of 500 years, for yearly rent of a peppercorn.
Witnesses: John Wynton, scrivener and Roger Stratton.
