Paper copies of a grant and re-enfeoffement from early in Henry VI's reign, drawn up by Richard Combe of Guildford. Grant by Geoffrey Mugge to William Godsewhyn, clerk, William Northampton, clerk, John Bozon of Devon, esquire, John Preston of Devon, esquire, John Bowet, John Janyn and Thomas Mugge, of all his lands in the hundreds of Woking and Blackheath [Blakhethefeld], Surrey, with appurtenances, to be held of the chief lord of the fee by the service thence due and of right accustomed, on condition that they re-enfeoff him and his heirs of all the lands and rights whenever required, this charter notwithstanding. Witnesses: William Otteworth (Utworth), Richard Combe, Richard Eton, John atte Lee, and John Skelton, Re-enfeoffement by William Godsewhyn, clerk, William Northampton, clerk, John Bozon of Devon, esquire, John Preston of Devon, esquire, John Bowet, John Janyn and Thomas Mugge, of all lands in the hundreds of Woking and Blackheath, Surrey, to Geoffrey Mugge of Guildford, esquire, lately granted by Geoffrey Mugge. Witnesses as in the original grant. Signed 'Otteworthe'.
