Indenture whereby John Morgan, knight, of Chilworth, Surrey, for the augmentation of the jointure of Dame Margery, his present wife, agrees to levy a fine for 'cognizance de droite' to James Thatcher (Thetcher)of 'Preisthawes', Sussex, concerning the capital messuage known as High Upfolds, situated in Cranleigh (Cranly), Surrey, lately held or occupied by Bartholomew Bowdock, and before that by John Barker, deceased, and the lands and tenements called 'Isemongers', 'Nashes' and 'Hollick; also the tenement known by the names of 'Canfold' and 'Shurrydon', lying in Cranleigh and Ewhurst, Surrey, formerly held by John Mower; the tenements known as 'Smithes' tenement and 'Fowkes' tenement in Shalford, Surrey, lately held by Simon Bromfield (Bromfeild); the tenements called 'Bridgement', 'Hales' and 'Bydland'; the tenement called 'Postford' lying in the parishes of St Martha, alias Martir, alias Martir Hill and Albury, Surrey, now or lately held by Robert Gregory; and the lands called 'Bushe landes' lying in the parishes of St Martha and Chilworth, now or late occupied by Theophilus Adams, gentleman; the rectory of the parish of St Martha and all its tithes and appurtenances; messuages in Shalford, Albury, Wonersh, Cranleigh, Ewhurst and St Martha.
