Indenture between Sir John Morgan, knight, of Chilworth, Surrey, son of William Morgan, esquire, and James Thatcher, esquire, of 'Pristhawes', Sussex, that whereas there was an indenture between William Morgan and John Love, gentleman, of Winchelsea, Sussex, dated 20 May 1580 regarding common recovery by William Morgan and his heirs of the manor of Chilworth in the parish of St Martha, Surrey, and of Shalford Heath in the parish of Shalford, Surrey, and whereas John Morgan is now the right heir of William Morgan, this indenture, in augmentation of the jointure of Dame Margery, his wife, concludes an agreement between John Morgan and James Thatcher to levy a fine whereby John Morgan acknowledges the reversion of this manor and land to James Thatcher and his heirs on the death of William Morgan, saving an annuity of £4 p.a. to be drawn by Bartholomew Bowdock.
