Description

Indenture between Sir John de Pulteney and John Hereward of Napton, Thomas Torald of Napton and Joan his wife, and John Juddun. Whereas Sir John grants all his lands and tenements in Napton on the Hill (Napton), [Warwickshire], to John Hereward, Thomas Torald and Joan his wife, and John Juddun, the other party guarantees that, if Thomas Torald fails to pay £5 10s to Sir John at Misterton, Leicestershire, at Easter and the same amount on 24 Jun next, Sir John might take all the lands back.

Witnessed by Thomas Hayton, John Bron senior, John Bron junior, John Smyth and William Smyth of Napton and others.

Dated at Napton on the Hill. Two seals missing. See WARD 2/40/146L/8 for the other part of the indenture.
