Description

Indenture between William Spencer of Everdon, Northamptonshire, on the first part, Gabriel Pulteney of Knowle Hall (Knolle Hall), Warwickshire, and Dorothy his wife, late wife of George Cope, deceased, on the second part, and John Cope of Everdon, on the third part, stating the assignment to Gabriel Pulteney and Dorothy of a lease for 50 years, of the manor of Knowle. The lease was originally made by Edmund Bonner, late bishop of London, to Sir John Cope on 7 November 1556, for the term of 99 years, at the yearly rent of £13, then assigned to George Cope on 8 May 1557 and later to Thomas Spencer of Everdon, Northamptonshire, deceased, on 13 November 1561.

Witnesses: John Thornton, William Clerke and Henry Rogers.
