Indenture of bargain and sale between John Bacon, son of Francis Bacon, sometime of London, deceased, and administrator of the goods and chattels of the said Francis, on the first part, and Erasmus Cope of Lincoln's Inn, Middlesex, and Thomas Hanslapp of Newnham (Newenham), Northamptonshire, on the other part, stating that, for £68 paid by George Cope of Gray's Inn, Middlesex, John Bacon grants to Erasmus Cope and Thomas Hanslapp an annuity of £16 issuing from the manor of Misterton, Leicestershire. The said annuity was granted by indenture dated 22 February 1563 by Michael Pulteney of Misterton to Francis Bacon during the term of the lives in survivorship of John Bacon, Edward Bacon and Edmund Bacon, sons of the said Francis, and it was further secured by another indenture dated 13 March 1567. Appointment by John Bacon of Erasmus Cope and Thomas Hanslapp as his attorneys to prosecute for a recognizance of £200, made by Gabriel Pulteney of Misterton to Francis Bacon on 25 June 1567.
