Description

Letter of exemplification of Henry VIII of an indenture brought by Nicholas Arghsmyth, esquire, to the Court of Augmentations on 20 May 1541; which was made 20 September 1533, between William Lakenham, prior of the monastery of Saint Andrew of Bromholm, and the convent, on the first part and Nicholas Arghsmythe of Huntingfield, Suffolk, esquire, on the other, recording the grant to Nicholas Arghsmythe of the manor of Burgh Castle, Suffolk, with appurtenances, for 50 years at the yearly ret of £19 and 10 shillings.

Dated at Westminster. Great seal (legend missing from impression).
