Letters patent of Thomas [of Brotherton], earl of Norfolk and marshal of England, confirming the grant and special licence of his brother, King Edward II, to John le Porter of Lacock that he might grant and assign forever to the abbess and nuns of Lacock a messuage and virgate of land with appurtenances in Lacock and Notton, saving the services due to the chief lords of the fee, of which virgate three acres are of the earl's fee in the town of Lacock, to have during the lifetime of the earl. Witnesses: Sir John Mauduit (Mauduyt); Sir Edmund Gasselyn; Thomas West; John de Molyn; John de Wynterbourne; and others. Dated at Westminster. Seal missing.
