Charter of Edward Sweyn by which he grants the following in free alms to the convent church of SS Mary and Bernard, Lacock: all of the land and tenements that Richard Sweyn, his father, had of the gift of Richard de Wike [Wick] in Lacock and Lackham that descended to him in hereditary right; all that land which his father had of William Clodegilofre; an acre of land that his father had of Richard White (Albo) of Notton; an acre that his father had of Sewel; an acre that his father had of the gift of William Bluet in Ashley (Asseleye); a croft called 'Wodecroft' that he had of John son of Gregory de Haydoneswike [Haydon Wick] in Lacock and Lackham. This is contingent on the following annual rents being paid: 12d. to the heirs of Richard de Wike; a halfpenny at Michaelmas to the heirs of William Cloudegilofre; half a pound of cumin to the heirs of Richard White of Notton at Michaelmas; a halfpenny at Michaelmas to the heirs of Sewel; a penny at Michaelmas to the light of the Blessed Mary in the chapel of Lackham; and a halfpenny at Michaelmas to the heirs of John son of Jordan. Witnesses: Sir Leonisius, chaplain of Lacock; Reginald Crok; Adam, then the steward; Robert White (le Blunt); Hugh of Lacock, clerk; Robert of Lacock, clerk; and many others. Non-armorial seal of Edward Sweyn in brown wax appended on a parchment tag.
