Description

Indented demise by Matilda de Montfort, abbess of Lacock, and the convent to John le Lange, smith, and Agnes, his wife, of a tenement with curtilage in Lacock (details given) for their lives for an annual rent of four shillings and suit of court at Lacock on the two law-days, with provision that if this demise cannot be fulfilled, then John and Agnes are to be compensated with another suitable tenement in the town of Lacock.

Witnesses: Roger Endely; John Boltford; John de Sutton; Andrew Baker (le Bakere); Richard Aldebourne [Aldbourne]; and others.

Dated at Lacock. Armorial seal in natural wax attached by parchment tag.
