Description

Indented letters patent of Joan [de Montfort], abbess, and the convent of Lacock, by which they lease for life to Edmund the smith (le Fevre), the son of William Edmond (Emoun) of Staunton (Stauntone), and to Edith, his wife, all of the tenement and land that Thomas le Ferour has in Lacock of their gift and grant for life (details given), for an annual rent of three shillings, saving royal service and suit of court. Witnesses: John Turpyn; Adam Harding; John de Bourleye; Thomas White (le Whyte); Averay atte Brugge; and others. Dated at Lacock. Two non-armorial seals in white wax (one fragmentary) appended on parchment tags.
