Description

Letters patent of Nicholas Crok of Wick by Lacock, by which he leased for life to John, son of Hugh le Meleward of Notton a toft and a 'Cotsetlelond' called 'Jateplace', land called 'Frensses place' and a tenement called 'Whyteformement', all of which John Sutton (Sottone) of Lacock formerly held, at an annual rent of four shillings and the annual service of finding one man to mow in his meadow of Wick for one day.

Witnesses: William Meleward; John Hobkynes; John Trompor; and others.

Dated at Lacock. Non-armorial (defaced) seal in natural wax appended on a parchment tag.
