Indented grant of Sibyl [de Sainte Croix], abbess of Lacock, and the convent there, augmenting a previous grant to Edith, daughter of Ralph de Cruce of South Shorwell (Suthshorewell') [Hampshire] of a messuage with curtilage and a virgate of land with common of pasture and other appurtenances in North Shorwell (Northshorewell') [Hampshire], which they had agreed should remain to Richard, her brother, after her death and which Edith and Richard had subsequently surrendered and quitclaimed to them, so that now the premises shall be held by Edith and Thomas le Wythe of ?Lemmerston' for their lives, jointly or severally, for an annual rent of 6s. 8d., with reversion after their deaths to the abbess and convent and their successors. Witnesses: John William; Thomas de Vaus; Thomas Haritslade; Robert Hugh'; Henry Wyth'; and many others. Dated at Lacock. One seal and tag missing; fragment of another seal appended on tag.
