Letters patent of Ralph de Chiverel, by which he grants in fee to Joan, daughter of Absolom the baker (Pistor) a house and the moiety of all his land in the vill of Lacock, to have and hold to Joan and her heirs produced legitimately with her husband, for an annual render of 12d. to the abbess of Lacock. Should Ralph wish to take Joan to wife, the properties shall remain to their heirs forever. If there are no heirs from this marriage, they will revert to his heirs from his first marriage after his decease. Witnesses: Walter of Notton; Robert de Holta [Holt], clerk; Richard White (Albus); Walter de Salice; Robert Spede; Alfred the smith; Jordan de Heydoneswik' [Haydon Wick]; Richard le Deveneys; Walter Clodegirofre; and others. Seal missing. Tag wrapped in woollen material.
